Private, In-Home Homework Coaches
Next to our math tutors, our “homework coaches,” or homework helpers, are the most popular. Homework coaches work with students two or more days after school. They focus on study skills and building executive functioning. They keep them on-track with their school subjects.
Our experienced, college-graduated tutors undergo special training to become homework coaches. They are uniquely equipped to tutor students with ADHD and problems with organization.
Homework coaches help students to:
- Complete assignments on time — and turn them in
- Manage their time efficiently
- Break down bigger projects into manageable steps
- Communicate better with teachers and parents.
Atlanta Tutoring for ADHD Students
ADHD students, and other students with executive functioning challenges, are generally bright kids who just can’t seem to “get it together.” They complete their work, then forget to turn it in. They don’t study for a test because they procrastinate. This can be hard for parents and teachers who see a good, smart kid falling behind.
Our coaches can communicate with teachers and counselors to make sure everyone is on the same page. Although the focus is always on completing homework and staying on top of schoolwork, the homework coach is always thinking about how to build the student’s study skills and self-reliance.
In-Home Tutors matched our teenage son with two skilled, engaging–and caring–tutors during his formative middle school and high school years. The result: he stayed on track thanks to a perfect blend of study skill-building, coaching and loving encouragement. He’s now on his way to college having earned an academic and talent scholarship.
