After three months of offering online tutoring only, In-Home Tutors has returned to what we do best — delivering personalized tutoring in your home.

In-Home Tutors takes your safety seriously and believes that we all have a role to play in protecting the vulnerable and preventing the spread of the virus. Here are our guidelines for both tutors and clients.

1. Our topline message to our tutors: “Stay home if you feel symptoms coming on or if you are exposed to someone with the illness.”  Any tutor who suspects they may be infected or at risk must call their clients to cancel.

2. For your part, please warn your tutor if someone is ill in your family or has been explosed someone who has tested Covid-19 positive, so they can choose whether or not to proceed with your lesson.

3. Covid-19 is especially dangerous for the elderly and those with underlying health conditions. For your protection, we ask you to confirm in advance of tutoring that no-one living in your house is elderly or has diabetes, asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, or other conditions that mark them at risk for this disease.

4. Your tutor will wear a mask. We encourage you and your child to do the same.

5.  At the start of each lesson both tutor and student should wash their hands throughly and wipe down the table where they will be working. Please also wipe down your student’s laptop and devices.

6. If the weather permits, working on a patio or other outdoor setting is safer, because the virus is more easily dispersed.

7. And finally, we’ve told our tutors to avoid touching their students or shaking hands with the parents. Maybe the namaste gesture

Let me know if you have questions — and of course, you may ask your tutor to follow any other procedures you feel are called for during this time. We continue to make tutors available for online tutoring.
